There is a decisive lack of hair at the crown. A band of moderately dense hair extending across the top separates the two areas of hair loss between the temporal front and the crown. The bald spot at the vertex is beginning to become prominent, but there is still a solid band of hair in the scalp region separating the frontal hairline from the vertex.
